A Nesterly Castlebrey of Georgia died onboard the ship, General Warren, a steamer, on Oct.
9, 1850. I believe this to be Benjamin Wesley Castleberry. My grandfather, Wesley
Benjamin Castleberry always told us his grandfather died at sea on his way to Calif.
Captains of the ships recorded by hand these notes in their ship records. I have found no
records of the name Nesterly Castlebrey in Georgia; just a lot of misspelled names for
Castleberry. Benjamin Wesley is in the 1850 US Census in Cherokee County but the census
was taken months before Oct. 9. The age shown in ship records is 33 years of age does not
correspond with his actual age but the captain had no birth records to be exact on age so
was probably approximating his age which was actually age 37. This is a case of drawing
your on conclusions as I have found no other record than this and what my grandfather had
told me.
