Could you fill me in a little more on your line? Here is what I have
pieced together during my research on the family (along with some of
my questions in [brackets]):
John F. Castleberry married Martha J. White 6 October 1859 in Drew
County, Arkansas. [When did John die? During the Civil War?]
Martha Castleberry married J. J. Etheridge 21 September 1865 in
Bradley County, Arkansas.
In 1880, the Joseph Etheridge family is living in Lick Mountain
Township, Conway County, Arkansas. In the household is Joseph's
stepson Robert Castleberry, age 18, and Robert's wife Charity, age
22. [What was Charity's maiden name? Was Robert the only child of
Martha White and John F. Castleberry?]
By the 1900 census, still living in Lick Mountain, Conway County, is
Charity E. Castleberry (born Aug 1858), a widow who says she has
given birth to 8 children, all of whom are still living. There are
only 7 in her household, though [Who/where is the 8th child?]
These are the children living with Charity Castleberry:
Thomas, born April 1882
Herbert, born Sept 1882
[one of these birth years must be wrong; which one?]
Ellen, born May 1885
Catherine, born June 1887
Arthur, born March 1888
John J., born April 1890
Robert, born December 1891
[When did Robert Castleberry, father of these children, die?]
Looking forward to hearing from you. I have transcribed the will of
Mary Castleberry, mother of John F. Castleberry, and I just posted it
to the Castleberry message board.
