Help!! This is driving me nuts!!!!
Mrs. Jemima A. Lancaster nee Darnall married Franklin (aka Elijah F.) Castleberry in 1869.
They only had one child that I know of....Emma K. Castleberry born 1870.
Just looked for my Castleberry/Lancaster/Darnall connection in the Trigg County 1880
census. No Castleberry was listed. So.....I look for Lancaster and low and
behold....there she is. But instead of using her name from her second marriage
(Castleberry), Jemima is back to using the name from her first (Lancaster). Also, her
youngest daughter is listed as Emma C. aged 9. I'm going to assume that the
"C" stands for Castleberry.
Could some kind soul that has access to the 1870 census for Trigg County please see if
there is a listing for a Castleberry household, possibly in the Golden Pond district? I
know that Jemima dies in Dec 1880 shortly after the census was taken; but, I haven't a
clue about ol' Franklin. Maybe he was much older than her and died shortly after the
marriage and it was just easier for Jemima to keep using the name from her first marriage.
I don't know. Actually I'd be grateful for any information pertaining to the
Castleberry family in this area.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!!!
Thanks.
