Hi Cousin!
Yes, I do go back to John, Sr. and am able to join the DAR on 2 lines
[proven] and the Loyalists on 1 line [proven]. Actually this research
has taught me that there is no black and white to any situation. I can
join the UDC and whatever they call the daughters of Union soldiers.
Some interesting information has come to light on the Paul Castleberry
lineage. As I am sure you are aware in DAR research, there are
"Unselected Records" in the National Archives. Those records not
received if you do not write "Send Entire File" across the top of your
request. Paul had a wife living in another county [with another man]
when he married Nancy!
As to John, Sr., we only know that he married Mary Ann ????. The only
child mentioned in his will was his youngest son [my ancestor] James. 3
sons of James went to Bradley County, Arkansas. Plus, a Robert
Castleberry - relationship unknown.
My research for this year is to establish the parentage of John, Sr. Was
it William or John CASSELBERRY????? from there it will link to Henrich.
Hopefully the website I'm designing will be of help to all Castleberry
researchers. I attempt to keep an index of any and all documents and
where they are located pertaining to that surname. And I will be
encouraging others to submit there indexes to me and transcriptions to
the GenConnect Boards.
Jo
