Good evening everyone,
I wanted to pass along some Castleberry information.
Martin Parker married Mary Ann Castleberry. Mary Ann died in Coosa County
and if I am wrong correct me, is buried at the Salem church cemetery.
Mary Ann and Martin had a large family. After her death he went across the
line into Talladega county and remarried, no children of this marriage, she
died. Rev. Martin Parker next moved to Lafayette County Mississippi at
Oxford and remained in the general area until he died Feb. 26, 1913.
He is buried in Tabernacle Church Cemetery the church he pastured. His
sister Elizabeth Parker Castleberry is also buried there.
Rev. Martin Parker was a minister and farmer. He was 83 at the time of his
death. Story has it he was called into Water Valley on church business and
on his return home was caught in a very bad storm. From this he is said to
have gotten pneumonia and died Feb. 26, 1913, his death certificate gives
his father as Carter Parker, Sr.
If anyone is interested in additional information just e me and I will be
glad to share what I have.
Cousin Margie
