Event: He was selected by the GA Legislature to construct the Hartford Road, from Hartford
(now Hawkinsville) to Milledgeville. In 1927, the DAR erected a marker on the site of his
home (Hwy 57). Election 1810 Commissioner, Wilkinson Co., GA
Note: His birth date is confirmed by an entry in his father's bible and also by the
Muscogee, GA census of 1850. He had two draws in the Ocmulgee land lottery of 1806. He
moved to Wilkinson Co., GA in 1808. He moved on to Monroe Co., GA and shows in the 1830
census, pg.189. He moved to Muscogee Co., GA and shows there in the 1840 and 1850 census.
He moved with a son to AR and then to LA.

father arrived there from Ireland.
