Could be, since his wife was from Vermont area! Have searced various places in VT but
since I am currently in VA and my records are in FL can't quite remember what areas I
covered.

You may also find researching in Bennington, Vermont. Jeheil, father of

I am going to pass this along to a friend of mine in Canada who has done
massive work on the Hartwell/Castle family. If he can't help you, perhaps he
can steer you in the right direction to find the info.

Miriam,
regarding your great-great grandfather Edward Herrick Castle born in
Amenia, Duchess Co. NY in 1811. Did he have any brothers or Uncles in
Ontario, Canada or Upper Canada about that time frame. I am looking for a
Gilbert Castle and his wife Mary who had a daughter named Content Castle
born in New York and christened in Lennox & Addington County, Ontario
Canada (around Kingston, by the St. Lawrence) in 1787. Would you have any
information on this family which may connect to yours? I know that
Content somehow was related to Esther Castle who married Jeptha Hawley,
who was the daughter of Samuel Castle & Martha Seeley of Litchfield,
Connecticut. Thank you.
