I, too, am interested in the brother who went south. My line starts with
John Levi "Levie" Castle, born in South Carolina, date unknown. He married
Charity Swain on Aug 12, 1824 in Wilcox County, Alabama and died before 1842 as
Charity remarried Montgomery Gause on Mar 10 1842. I have found a deed from
Charity Castle to her sons John (b. 1832) and Thomas (b. 1834) Castle for
40.14 acres in Coosa County, Alabama
John Levi, Martha (Patsy) (b. 1838) and possibly Thomas moved to Wood
County, Texas. I have found them on the Wood County Census.
I received information from another researcher that the line might be
related to a Jobe Castle. I plan to have an uncle do a DNA test to see what
information we might get. Does anyone have information about a Jobe Castle?
