You may be right. There were several Castle families in Castleton, Pawlet,
Ira, Middletown Springs. Abel, David and Tracy Castle moved to Chittenden
county, but to my knowledge they didn't have a daughter Rebecca.
I have been looking for Roswell Castle for 4 years, and not having a whole
lot of luck. Records in Rutland County are very scarce, especially that
early. So many didn't register the births of their children in the town
records it is very hard to prove the children's parents.
I know thru church records that an Almira Castle and Sally Castle married
Churchill brothers, and moved to New York State. I just can't find anything
to prove they were the daughters of John and Freelove. I found in the church
records that Almira married Zenus in 1805. But that doesn't mean they lived
there, and other than that I haven't found proof they lived in Castleton. I
have a theory about the situation, but that is a far cry from the proof I
must have. If you would care to e-mail me off list I will be happy to work
with you to see if we can come up with some answers.

We might be looking for the same family. My ancestor Rebecca Castle was
born in
1802 in Rutland Co. VT or MA (census of children conflict as to
place). Rebecca married Jesse Moon of Pittsford, Rutland, VT in 1819 and
named her first child Elmira/Almira. Rebecca named her next male chilld John
and then Abigail, Nathan and Rebecca followed. She died in 1830 at a very
young age in Ticonderoga, NY where she is buried. Barbara Batista
