Don,
THANK YOU so very much for the info.!! You wouldn't believe how many YEARS
I've been searching for some kind of anything to help me with my husband's
maternal ancestry.
Where is this family from? Lawrence Co., KY? Do you have anything re: William &
Lucy such as children, births, marriages, locations, deaths along with burials, etc . . .
Can you do the same for Benjamin & Amanda?
I don't have access to ancestry (can't afford it), but last night I somehow
managed to get into the 1880 census in Lawrence Co., Louisa, KY & found a David C.
Castle born 1867 KY at 13 years of age. He's listed an accupation as farm laborer
living with his parents, Benjamin born 1845 KY farm laborer & mother, Amanda born 1845
KY as keeping house. Siblings were listed as: Layfayette born 1870 KY, Mary L. born 1872
KY & Trinvilla born 1878 KY. I'm assuming I have the right family?
There's also a David C. Castle listed in the 1910 & 1920 census in Lawrence
Co., Little Blaine District, Louisa, KY living with wife Virginia/Vergie. I have my
David's 2nd wife after Maggie's death to a Vergie Moore (relationship unknown to
Maggie). The 2 children there are Dovie & Roberta Castle.
Do you by any chance know anything pertaining to a "Chief Castle"? My
husband's family used to have a book when he was in elementery school that showed a
picture of this Chief Castle. He was always told that this man was his ancestor. Any
clues?
Are there any pictures floating around of these particular Castle's? I have
several pictures in black & white that are copies. One is of David, Maggie, Okey
& 2 daughters in a family sitting. Date & location unknown.
Whatever other info. you are willing to share will once again be greatly appreciated.
I can offer anything from David & Maggie to date. I anxiously look forward to
hearing from you again soon. Take care & be good.
Karen
