Hi. There has been too many secrets in my family that makes it too hard to find anything.
I'm hoping someone can help with the info I do have.
My grandmother is (Clara)Louise Casterline(b. Jan 11, 1921, d. Mar. 1993). Her parents
were John A. Casterline(d.May 1972) and Gladis(nee. Honel) Casterline(d.Apr.1980).
According to a 1930 census I found, they lived with Gladis's Mom, Clara B
Honel(b.1880) in Dover, NJ, which is what my grandmother was able to verify. My
grandmother was the only child and she was actually adopted. I know that she did find a
sibling during her lifetime, but further information was kept or destroyed by her
parents(adopted). The Honels had some kind of connection I believe with a theatre in
Dover, the Playhouse Theatre and/or the Bon Ton Theatre. I am hoping there may be someone
who knows anything at all about a family secret around the adoption or in the least,
information pertaining to my great grandparents. Adopted or not, I'd love to know
anything about my grandmothers childhood. For reference, because of my grandmothers
secrecy, anyone with ties to this line may not be aware that my!
grandmother even had children, 2 in fact, my mom, Susan Casterline(b. Jan 1, 1952) and
William Casterline(b. Oct. 1953). They were both born out of wedlock, my grandmother
never married - oh, the stories I could tell, lol. I also have another name of a
relative, but I don't know where she fits. My mom suspects that she could be Clara
Honels mother. Her name is Hazel Bowlby(sp?).
Any way, if any of this sounds familiar and you can tell me more or want info from me,
please let me know,
Thank You,
Kathy
