Great idea! This list has been so quiet that I thought it was dead. Good to
know that there is some life here.
My line is Barnabus and Rhoda (Cooley?) Casterline who were in Orange co NY
until about 1800. They had at least one son there, maybe more. They moved to
Seneca Co and Rhoda last appeared by herself in Tompkins co NY.
Children were
Jonathon C. born ca 1795 died in Cass co Mich in 1863 no heirs,
Sarah married ------ Reynolds,
Barnabus Jr married Elizabeth Marie DuBois and moved to Mich and then Minn
,issue,
Keziah married James Wright and died in Allegany co NY issue(that's Judy's
line) ,
Jane married John Hunter in Cass co Mich,
Rhoda married Albert White in NY ,issue.
Nathaniel moved to Mich and then to Iowa,
Thomas J. married Rachel Hurlburt lived and died in Cass co Mich, issue,
Hiram no heirs,
Mary Anne (my line) married Chester Gleason in NY (probably Allegany Co) and
moved to Cass co Mich, issue. He died in 1850 and she married Jonathon Crow
or Cross. Her date and place of death is unknown.
When Jonathon died his estate was contested and has, or at least had, the
dubious fame of being the longest running probate case in Michigan (about 15
years) In the course of it all the children were interviewed about their
relationship to him so this whole genealogy is on record.
It appears it was a somewhat disfunctional family in that Barnabus Sr
abandoned the family for 16 years, came back long enough to have several
more children and then just went missing for good. Nanette
