Hi Jerry,
I sent a copy of our letters to the CASTEEL-L(a)Rootsweb.com group for their
input. Many minds are better than my one mind any day of the week :-) I
have seen a copy of that Court Session in James Rolff's book "Strong Family
of Virginia and Other Southern States' (1982) but I don't have a copy. I
always suspected that this JOHN CASTEEL and his sister, JEAN JENNY CASTEEL,
moved to BAREN COUNTY (now MONROE COUNTY) KY between 1808 and 1812 with
SAMUEL STRONG. JOHN CASTEEL then sold 80 acres of land in Barren County to
Samuel Strong in 1812. But just because he sold the land in 1812 doesn't mean
that he had not already moved to Tennessee, prior to 1812. I thought this
JOHN CASTEEL had married a McClellan? I think they are the same, but that's
just me.
Hope to here from somebody on this :-)
Take care,
Dave Strong (in Indy)
