Dave,
I have bookmarked your site!!!
I sent out a message on this list several months ago but there was no
response.
My G grandmother was "Sally" Sara (sp?) Casteel and she marred a Matthew
Josephus Brett in Meridian Mississippi just after the Civil War. She was
originally from either TN or KY and I have some letters somewhere that she
wrote back home. (Where did I put those?). I thought her father was a
doctor, but I could be wrong.
I once saw a photo of her and she was rather dark and a bit solid. After my
grandpa Homer Brett was born, Matthew died and she later married a man
named Willis and had three sons.
Does any of this sound familiar?
Thanks,
Elizabeth Grayson Brett
