Dear Dave, I dare not hope too much but it looks like
my Castiles had the very same migration as the
Casteels and Strongs did in your book. Do you really
think there could be a connection? I am in Ft.Stewart
Ga at the present time and no where close to a
library. It is so frustrating. I had to do alot of
searching to have what information I do have. (My Gr
Grandpa Allen Castile walked out on my Grandfather
Allen and his sister when they were very young. And
ended up remarrying two more times never admitting to
the first marriage. So, you know I had to do alot of
digging to come up with what I do have. Have you come
across any other Castile/eel information in your
research? Thanks so much for your time already, this
is exciting! Sincerely Colleen
Census taken On 8 June, 1880 in Rock Township,
Jefferson County, Missouri: Robert Castile age 35,
(born in Tennessee) (so birth the year would of been
around 1845). His wife Emiline age 32,(born in Mo.)
had Sophie I. age 11, Robert T. age 9, and Charles E.
age 6. The Census for 1890 was destroyed in a fire,
so that leaves a gap, but in the Census taken 7 June
1900 in St. Louis, Missouri are: Robert Castile, born
Mar 1870, married for 8years to Lizzie, born Aug 1874
in Illinois. Her parents were from Germany.
They had Ella, born Aug 1893, Allen, born July 1896,
and Irene, born Nov 1898. I couldn't find anything
for 1910, but on January 6, 1920 Allen Castile was
listed in St Louis, age 24, a Fireman Locomotive. He
was married to Adeline Abert, age 25, from Illinois
(father from Germany but mother from Missouri) They
had son Allen, age 3yrs 9months, and daughter Adele
1yr 10months. I tried to find where in Tennessee the
Robert born 1845 was from, but only found a Castile in
1830 that's a possibility. I also saw an Allen
Castile born 24 Jul 1897 in Missouri on the Social
Security Death Index. Died Apr 1983. I saw other
Castile families in Missouri in 1880, but it would be
hard to know, at this point, how they might be related
to Robert.
> Hope this can help you somewhere!
Sincerely Colleen
