Hello,
My mother was born and raised in Indiana and her maiden name is Cast.
Thus, you have peaked my interest about the Cast family in Alabama. My
line comes from Bowman Cast, who lived in the Carolina's during the
1700's. I am trying to locate information on the him and the Cast family
in Cottingham, England. This may be where he was born and may have been
forced into the British navy as a child to work as a "Power Monkey" only
to jump ship years later in the "colonies". Because of my interest in
American history, I have traced my grandfathers to the wars of 1812 and
the American civil war. Great grandfather James R. Cast was born in
Clinton county, Indiana and his civil war records are maintained in the
National Archives. I can provide names of ancestors back to the late
1400's (undocumented at this point).
