I believe that Bryan Ova Cassity, b 1894 and Seldon Cassity, b 1890 were half brothers to
my relative, Nora Augusta Vogelman-(her mother, we think was Mary Susan Cassity who was
born 1857 in Ky--who wed Mr. Vogelman) . Mary's parents could be Harrison Cassity and
Mariah Cassity. Mr. Vogelman died in what seems to be train accident--there is a court
case in Montgomery county, Ky :Vogelman, Mary S., Administrator Plantiff;
Defendant-Kentucky & South Atlantic Railway Co 1884--(Think husband Morris, or Maurice
or Moriz? Vogelman) died in 1883 or 1884. We haven't located records for him but do
have pictures ( from relative) of his brother with writing on back--Albert Vogelmann,
Brother of Morris E.T.Vogelmann, brother of Hedwig Olga Vogelmann, Elwangen, Germany. And
picture of Grandmother Vogelmann, Mother of Morris Emeramis Thomas Vogelmann who was
father of Nora Augusta Vogelman Johnson, Elwagan, Germany.
Thereafter , Mary Susan Cassity Vogelman wed a cousin we think--perhaps G.B.Cassity on
8/12/1886--do not know what initials stand for. I think that she then had two
children--Seldon Cassity, b 1890 and Bryan Ova Cassity, b 1894 or 1896 who were living
with Nora and Robert Lee Johnson along with her brother--Herman Anthony (Tony) Vogelman in
Okla from ky..Have seen posted that Bryan Ova Cassity died Oct 7, 1976 in Roseberg,
Oregon--and wife being Lora ? Just leads. Other children from Mary's second marriage
may be McCleland Cassity and Curtis Cassity. It is possible that Mary Susan Cassity
Vogelman Cassity was born in Elk Fork, Morgan Cty, Ky Jan 10, 1857. Still looking for the
proof.
I have seen postings that suggest that Mary Susan Cassity and Maurice Vogelman were wed 7
Jan 1877 in Menifee Cty, Ky. Hope this might be of help to you--If you have information
about this Mary Susan Cassity, please let me know.
But she is on census living with parents after that year under name of Vogelman.
It is possible that her husband worked for railroad, and she was close to the birth of
Nora.
