Research Notes for Elias Cassil
He was a very kind, congenial, loving man and always looked on the bright
side of life.[68]
He attended the wedding of Charles Parker Johnson and his daughter, Myrtle
Lee Cassil;[26]
converted and joined the Methodist church as a young man;[68]
lived a faithful member of that church all his life.[68]
He is named in the death record of Myrtle Lee Cassil; [35]
in the application of Myrtle Lee Cassil for her social security account; [41]
named in an interview with Cheryle Cassil; [50]
He is identified in the photograph, "The Phillip Ward Cassil Family;" [231]
A journeyman was a person who served as an apprentice until the age of
twenty-one, usually in carpentry of cabinetmaking. At that age, he was
named journeyman, "an apt designation for many tried various locations
before settling down to a permanent place of business."[174]
The death record of Myrtle Lee Cassil suggests that he was born in MO;[35]
but other evidence supports OH as his birthplace.[65]
