Your Cassel connection looks suspiciously close to mine (see below),
particularly as Salome's family spent some years in Washington Co,
Maryland. Do you have enough data to clarify this possibility further. I
have not been successful in finding much information about Salome's birth
family.

1. Maria Salome1 CASSELL was born 3 Jan 1753 in Somerset County, PA. She
was the daughter of John CASSELL. She went by the name of Salome.
She married Jacob KNABLE 12 Nov 1776 in Stouchberg, Berks, PA. He
was born 3 Jan 1753 in Bethel Twp, Berks, PA, the son of
Christopher KNEBEL and Catherine WALBORN. Jacob died 1823 in
Somerset County, PA, and was buried in Centerville Ch., Somerset,
PA.
They had 9 children:

fii. Catherina KNABLE, born 22 Mar 1785 in Milford Twp,
Somerset, PA. She married Henry SHAFF.
Catherina died 25 Jan 1876.

Somerset, PA. She married George FRIEND. Notes

Somerset, PA. She married Jacob HARBAUGH.

1832.

NAME: Knoebel (Paul & Howell); Knapp on map of Tulpehocken from
Doris Mitchell.
CHURCH: In Washington County, MD: St. Paul's Lutheran and Reformed
Church. "St. Paul's Reformed Church, near Clearspring, was
founded around 1747; the Lutheran Congregation, using the same
Church building, was founded around 1760. The baptism records
are combined and begin in 1788." (Wright) Two of Jacob &
Solome's children are recorded, 1790, 1791.
BURIAL: Centerville Church Cemetery. The Church is to right of the
road going toward Centerville, PA. Grave is in the old part of
the cemetery. Character of stone (if any): private, no marker.
