Court Notes for Myrtle Lee Cassil
A search of probate and will records discovered no documents.[49]
Marker
She has no burial marker.[40] No record of an obituary notice could be
located.[52]
Medical
At 0600 on 01 Mar 1984, she was transported from Magnolia Convalescent Home
by ambulance with orders to take her to Riverside Hospital; however, the
paramedics thought she was in acute distress and took her to a closer
facility, which was Parkview Hospital.[44]
She arrived at Parkview Hospital Emergency Room at 0645 with difficulty
breathing. Her condition was guarded.[45]
She was admitted to ICU at 0745 on 01 Mar 1984 and given therapeutic
antibiotics.[43]
She died of CHF, CVA [35] and bronchopneumonia.[46]
Medical records from Magnolia Convalescent Home were unavailable.[47]
Douglas Bailey was her physician but he died before I could locate him and
the whereabouts of his records is unknown.[48]
Research
On two records, Ms. Dollie Williamson is named the informant.[35] Her
relationship was friend.[43] Ms Williamson died before I could find and
talk with her; but her husband, Curtis Williamson, described Myrtle Lee as
a nice woman, a hard worker with an independent nature and a good friend.
He had known her 15 or 20 years.[51]
According to Cathy Clouard, a close friend, she lived in a mobile home and
was cared for by Dollie Williamson during the last years of her life. She
attended the Lutherin Church.[42]
One interview suggests that she had a younger sister.[50]
Of the records that evidence the birth date of Myrtle Lee, the year on one
conflicts dramatically from the others. On her application for a social
security number, dated 08 July 1941, she claimed to be 45 years old, born
on 27 July 1895. This form is written in her own hand; and it is a mystery
why it is different. Could it have been an error because she was distraught
over the health of her father? Elais died in 1942.
