Subject: [CASSIL-L] Cassill Family - Vinton/Ross Co., Ohio
First time to post my Cassill Family. Would like to fill in
gaps in my info., touch base with other Cassill "cousins"
etc. This site is slow, so I hope this sparks some interest
in someone out there! I'll have questions to ask Cassill
genealogists more expert than I am. Am confused with the
older generations.

Dixie,
Your message header mentions Ross Co., though I don't see any
reference to that county in the text. I am interested because of a
connection with my BRADFORDs of Chillicothe, Ross Co., OH. Lydia
BRADFORD married a William Cossell (we have them in Coles Co., IL) in
1845. In 1850, her younger sisters, Martha Eliz. and Mariah were
living with her, presumably after the death of their mother. In 1862,
after the death of her first husband, Perry TIFFT, Martha E. married
James A. CASSELL.
I've lost "Lizzy" and James after the 1870 census in Fallriver,
Greenwood Co., KS. (They are also listed in the Coles Co., IL census
for that year.) I do know they had at least two daughters, Anna b. ca
1863 and Belreath (or Beatrice?) b. ca 1870.
I have been in contact with other COSSELL/CASSELL researchers and we
have pretty much nailed down a relationship between William and James,
and connections to Iowa, as well. So far, we have James and his father
John in VA, IA, IL, KS, and MO!
I would be interested in any references to Ross Co.
