I'm new to the list, I've waited a few days to see how requests are
formatted but so far no "looking for.." messages, so here goes with mine!
My earliest CASSIDY is James, b about 1800, married 1820's or 1830's to
Mary MULHOLLAND and they were said to be "of Antrim, Northern Ireland".
They had a family of about 6 or 7 children one of whom was Patrick b about
1832. he went to Glasgow where he worked in the textile industry and
married Bridget LYNCH in 1860 (actually there was an agreement to live
together ,and they already had one child).
Their children were: Peter 1860;
Mary 1862, who married Patrick CRAWLEY, and they went to Detroit in 1924;
Thomas 1864;
Elizabeth 1866 who married Bernard DOUGAN and went to the USA; Helen
Bridget 1868;
John 1870;
Rachel Ann 1872 who married Edward MACDONALD;
and James Patrick 1876.
I have some information on the family from Glasgow Poor-Law Records.
I would love to make contact with anyone "out there" who also has any
interest in this family.
Sincerely,
Trish
