I was looking for my OBriens and Rourkes (Rorke) and thought I'd scribble
down some Cassidys. The Irish move to Brooklyn later than New York City.
Most Irish first spend time in New York City (Manhattan at this time) then
move on to Brooklyn or other locations. My Cassidys arent here yet and my
diect line moves straight to Greenpoint Brooklyn -- one reason I track
other Cassidys in Brooklyn is because I believe they had relatives In
Brooklyn. Also Brooklyn was much smaller in 1848; only 1-11 Wards of Kings
Co. As I was writting these addreses down one thing I noticed is that many
of the Cassidy are living in the area known as Irishtown which is
principlely in ward 5; located between the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges
now -- close to the Navy Yard .
oh yeh I'm dyslexic so forgive my spelling and typing mistakes
