I posted my information, little that I have a couple weeks ago, and
alas, have had no response that matched. I would like to, once again
make a plea that if there are any people out there descended from
the Cassidy (or Cassiday) family who lived in Cornwall, Ontario in
the early 1800s to please contact me.
My gg grandmother's name was Delia or Adelia Cassiday. and as I have
heard from the list, possibly Bridget. (I have never seen any
reference to her name being other than Delia.)
I have no information abut any parents or siblings, although she most
certainly had them. She married Francis A. DeRosier, moved to St.
Lawrence County, in New York, then after a couple children the family
moved to Scriba, outside of Oswego, NY, where Francis died in 1850
leaving her a young widow to raise 10 children. She died in Oswego in
1899.
Hard to believe that out of all those children that none of their
descendants are researching the family. There MUST be someone looking
for this family. Please, please contact me. I am desperate to get
past this brick wall. Marilyn
