Hello Eileen,
This might be a stretch... but I have a Edward Cassidy who was born in 1828 who had 3
children in the province of Quebec. My records indicate that he was born in Ireland an
immigrated with his parents to Quebec (about 3 hours from Montreal)... then he disappeared
but has relatives that moved to the States so he may very well have moved to the States as
well. Like I said this may be a bit of a stretch but let see if we can connect more of
the dots together... I only have the first name of his wife..(Marie E.) and 3 names for
the children he had (Albert, Mary Ann Haley and Orria) I have a death date of November 23,
1892. Both the source is from a relative....
If you think that we may be talking about the same person here, e-mail me @ nath(a)telus.net
and we'll see if we can connect the dots.

Hello Marilyn, I decided to check and see where Cornwall, Ontario
was as
our ancestor, Edward Cassada/Cassity/Cassidy was born about 1828
"near
Montreal, Canada". He was born to parents born in Ireland.
Family lore
says he had a family before he came to Wisconsin about 1875 and
married and
had a family of five more children. He died in 1888 following a
lumber mill
accident and his son from the previous marriage, John Cassidy
visited him
before he died. That is all that we know about him. We haven't
been able
to find him in Canadian census records. We don't know when he
left Canada,
if he married and had first family there, or in the States. I see
that
Cornwall could qualify as "near Montreal, Canada", . In his
second family,
he had two daughters named Mary Bridget called "Callie" and Mary
Elizabeth,
called Lizzie. The sons were named James Philip, Robert, Thomas
and Edward.
