I want to add a little information about my Father. His name "Gerard
Joseph Anthony Cassidy" was given to the Nuns At the N Y Foundling hospital
by his Mother (Mary) when she brought him there the day after he was born.
He stayed there until he was 2yrs old, in 1907 he was put on the Orphan
Train and brought to Louisiana. The reason for the trains was to get
orphans and children on the streets a place to live, hopefullywith caring
parents. I do not know if Mary was single, married or left to to be on her
own. I'm trying to find some one who might have heard this story and
could make a connection. I just might find a friend or family member some
where Thanks Rose
