There is a supersition in Ireland that if a person has parents both had the
same last name makes brown bread, they can give it to someone with whooping
cough, for example, and it will be cured!

Subject: [CASSIDY-L] Casada, Casaday and Cassity
Hi Cassidy cousins,
I am fortunate enough to have a double dose of Cassidy.
On my father's side I am descended form Abram Casada and Rhoda Hall (late
1700's-early 1800s) of Tennessee and Kentucky. I am descended through his
son
Martin who moved to Iowa in the 1830s and changed the spelling to Casaday.
From there my branch moved on the California in the 1850s and settled
in
the
Santa Cruz and Napa County areas.
On my Mom's side, I am descended from the 5 Cassity brothers (Peter, John
Jacob, William, David and Isaac Newton) who moved to Kentucky from Virginia
in the 1790s.
Would love to hear form anyone from the two branches.
Kelly Casaday-Thompson
