Ok, ok...
My ggGrandmother was Alice Cassidy, who was born in 1824, probably in
County
Wicklow, Ireland. Her father's name was Michael and she had a
number of
siblings: Bridget (1810), Margaret (1820), Bernard/Bryan/Byron (1823),
Michael (1824) all of whom settled near Janesville, Wisconsin. There was
at
least one sister who stayed in Ireland and married a Tummey/Tuomy and
had a
son Michael who lived in Wicklow. There may have also been siblings named
James, Catherine and Anna. Alice married William K. Carroll and had 6
children; Bridget married Edward Balf and had no children; Margaret married
Michael Beggs and had at least 6 children; Bernard/Bryan/Byron married
Catherine Gamble and had at least 8 children, 4 of whom moved west to North
and South Dakota, Minnesota and one to Chicago.
I hope that someone can make a connection with this Cassidy family. I
would
be glad to share any information I have.
