David Cassiday was born in Co. Antrim in 1767 and is said to have sailed
from Londonderry with 2 brothers (names unknown) in 1788. He settled for
a short time in Virginia, then moved to Washington Co., Pa. where he
married Rachel Meek. By 1802 he was living in Blachleyville, Wayne Co.,
Ohio. He died there Oct. 17, 1844.
David's son, William (1813 - 1891) married Martha Williamson. William
and Martha both died in Lucas, Iowa. Family stories say he was a
builder/engineer and built a bridge.
William's son, Grant (1864 - approx 1916) married Florence Yeam. Grant
moved his family to Saskatchewan in the early 1900s. Grant and his
descendants spell the name Cassidy.
I am looking for any possible links to these families, especially to
David's brothers, also any information on their passage from Ireland and
ancestors there.
Through this list, I have become acquainted with cousins who have shared
lots of valuable information and guidance and I'd like to give something
back to anyone who has links to these lines.
