Would like to try one more time on my Casaday family. Has been some time
since I posted. Need information on William Casaday(or other spellings) born
in Ga 1796, to parents unknown.I have not been able to connect him with any
other Casaday as possible parents or siblings.. The census says that he was
born in GA but have no other proof of that. He received land in Harris Co.
Ga, because of being a soldier. Is there a way to find out what service he
received the land for. My grandmother always said they were Scotch Irish.
Since the earliest Irish in our country were predominantly Scotch Irish, this
would seem to fit the pattern. He married Amias Davis Dec. 6, 1828, Harris
Co. GA. Amias died during the trip to Tallapoosa Co. AL. He married 2nd Roan
Ledbetter, Nov 21, 1841. in Tallapoossa Co. AL. Lived in Tallapoosa Co. Al
until his death.
I have the information on his children and will be happy to share. However, I
would appreciate any information on Casaday(Cassity, Cassaday, etc.) in early
GA or AL that might be a possible match. I feel that the might be a
connection between this William and the William Casaday that was a seaman, as
family legand says that either he or his father was a seaman. Would
appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks
