Hi Bill,
I remember the post. I'm not related to these Cassidys, but as mine
came from nearby, I am interested in all Cassidys in the
Derrygonnelly area. I suspect they are all related maybe another two
or three generations back from William.
Did you have a specific question?

Hello Janet~~
I came across this old entry on the Fermanagh list & maybe I'm just
missing it, but I couldn't seem to find any response to it. It's
an oldie (2005) so I didn't want to re-post it to the mailing
list. This is my family (William, Robert & Jane were the names of
my great-grandfather's older half-siblings.) & maybe you had done
this request on my behalf.
The death certificate I have for William gives his mother's name as
Elizabeth Hall, although I was under the impression that the name
was Jane not Elizabeth. His brother Robert's DC has Unknown Hall &
Jane's info got lost when my PC crashed. I have to get down to
Muni Archives some day & re-transcribe it.
Thanks to you (if I remember correctly) I traced my family to
Drumnanane, where my Cassidys were one of three families living
there in the 1901 & 1911 censuses--the Dolans & the Halls being the
other two. And, by this time at least, the Halls were listed as
RC, just as they apparently were in this data I got from the
Fermanagh-Gold database:
1872 Chapel School--Drumary
Yr of birth Religion Residence Occupation of Parents
1860 Cassidy, Catherine RC Drumanane Farmer
1861 Cassidy, Maurice RC Drumanane Farmer
1860 Hall, Eliz. RC Drumanane Farmer
1859 Hall, John RC Drumanane Farmer
Sorry to drag these "quick" e-mail on so long. Below is the
posting I was referring to.
Thanks

Hi Bill,
Just wondering if, among the names you have researched, you ever
came across these names: William Cassidy married to Elizabeth Hall.
They lived in Drumnanane, outside of Derrygonnelly. This townland
is Inishmacsaint Parish I think. They would have been married
about in 1840s. Elizabeth died and William m. Margaret Carroll in
1855 in Derrygonnelly RC church. Or baptism of Elizabeth Hall. she
may have been protestant, and there is an Alexander Hall in
Griffith's, same townland.
William and Eliz 3 children were William, Jane and Robert.
I know you have looked for Cassidys in west Fermanagh, so thought
I'd ask
you.
Thanks,
Janet
