Subject: [CASSIDY-L] Casada, Casaday, Cassity
I have two Cassidy connections although both had changed the spelling
early
on.
On my maternal side I am descended from William Cassity born about 1748 in
VA. He along with his bothers went to Kentucky in the late 1700's. From
there
my line (the Peter Thompson Cassitys') went to Linn County,
Missouri in
about
1850.
On my paternal side, I am descended from Abram (or Abraham) Casada born
about
1755. Abram lived in Wayne County, Kentucky. I am descended from
Abram's
son
Martin who moved from KY to McMinn County, TN then to Adams County,
IL and
finally on to Jefferson County, IA. Martin and his descendants changed the
spelling to Casaday. From there, I descend from Martin's son Reuben (b.
1816
in KY, married Eliza Fields). Reuben moved to CA in 1853 eventually
settling
in Santa Cruz County.
Would love to here from any cousins. especially and Casadays.
Sincerely,
Kelly Casaday-Thompson
