Fran, Are you on the Fermanagh Gold list?
I have found that people in Ireland usually married someone who lived
very close by, a neighboring farm, or at least the same parish. Is
Rateen in Clones parish?
How do you have the marriage info from Griffith's when that only
gives names of heads of households? Griffith's in Fermanagh was done
in 1862, by the way. The date range (1847-1964) is for all of
ireland. They started int he south and worked their way northward.
Are there church records for the late 1840s for the parish that
Rateen is in?

I'm convinced that every Cassidy woman who wasn't

Mary, was named Margaret - my gr-gr-grandmother included.
She married John Tague who lived in County Fermanagh; Townland
Rateen; Barony Clankelly. This information appearss in Griffith's
Valuation (1847-1864). John and Margaret had a son, Edward, born
circa 1849.
But what of John's wife, Margaret Cassidy, for whom I have no
records? I don't know when or where these two were married or
anything about Margaret except that...there was a Margaret Cassidy
born on January 22, 1826 in Clones, Co. Monaghan. Her parents were
Sarah (Cargill) & William Cassidy.
Is there any way to check if she could have been the wife of
John Tague? I do realize that this would be an incredible long
shot, but there's nothing to lose, and what a find it would be! I
just don't know how to find out.
Thank you.
