For those of you who were around to remember, this is the Cassidy branch
rumored to have a 127 year old member named Jeremiah Andrew Cassidy who
fought in the Revolution. Still working on finding him, however after years
of looking I have been contacted by a (new!) family member who brings old
written information piecing some of this family together. If any of the
following folks are familiar to your research please contact me. (Nothing
quite like a break after years of deadends!)
Jeremiah Alexander Cassidy b. July 14, 1809 in KY and
Martha Matilda Jackson b. July 4, 1814 in VA d. 1867
Married (according to notes) in 1851.
They had the following children:
Eva b. 1852
Massillon b. Aug 22, 1854
Sara Elizabeth b. 1856
Alice b. Feb 26, 1858
Children:
May, Edna, Ethel, Matilda, Isham, James, Frank, Lester
Frank B. b. Dec. 7, 1861 in TN
Frank marries Georgia Peoples in TX
Children: Ruth, Mildred, Eugene b. 1889 - all born in TX
Eugene b. 1866
I don't yet know if all the children of Jeremiah and Martha were born in TN.
The family was split up sometime after the death of Martha. Two of the
sisters and Frank end up in TX. (Denison) Also Massillon goes on to complete
college and becomes the superintendent of schools in Lexington, Kentucky. The
remaining two end up with another family I believe.
There is rumored that Jeremiah Alexander Cassidy is buried at Mt. Vernon in
VA.
This is all the information I have at this time. Hope this connects with
someone.
Will happily share what information I have and is still coming in.
Chris (Cassidy) Schutz
Grandaughter of Eugene Herbert Cassidy, the son of Frank B.
