Sorry Cindi,
Don't have anything on this John Oliver of yours...
Howewer I do have a Johny that I don't have a birth date for... his parents were
married in 1884... if you think this is a place where you would like to look...his parents
were Michael John Lawrence Cassidy & Mary Hinds, married on November 11, 1884, in
St-Odilon, Quebec...However, he would have been 18 years old when is mother died and his
father died later.... so if your information is correct, this is not the same person. If
you decide that you want to find out more about this Johny, I know it's not much but
it's a direction you could look into at least...You may be able to order this
Johny's birth records by phoning the St-Odilon church @
(418) 464-2281... They are open only on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 to 4:00,
eastern time... I doubt if they speak english though...
Good Luck,
Nathalie

Hi Nathalie,
Sorry to be so slow getting back to you. I've been asking my sister and cousin if
they know anymore about grandpa than I do and the answer is no. All we know is that John
Oliver Cassidy was born in Quebec on October 19, 1889, and his parents died in a train
wreck when he was about 3 years old. Apparently, he was raised by family in Farellton,
Ontario after that. I'd love to find out his parents names and any siblings, if he
had any.
Talk to you soon,
Cyndi Cassidy

P.S. Everyone -- The Cassidy Clan rally is less than 18 months away.
The August 2005 rally should be our best ever. Please visit

our website to your family and friends.
The Cassidy Clan rally sounds like it would be a wonderful gathering to be
at! Just curious, do you know if there are any Canadian Cassidy links that
I could access. I don't know much about my family history. My
grandfather's name is John Oliver Cassidy and I know that he was born in
Quebec in the 1880's and died in Prince George, BC, in 1967.
Hoping you might point me in the right direction,
Cyndi Cassidy in Quesnel, BC
