Cormick CASSIDY married Sarah MURRAY who was born in Monaghan, County
Monaghan in 1797. They had four daughters and a son. Three of their
children were Elizabeth or Bessie, born approx 1829, Maryanne born approx
1826, and Catherine.
Sarah was sentenced to seven years transportation to New South Wales in
1836. Their daughter Catherine was also transported six months later.
It is recorded that Sarah was a widow at the time of her voyage to New
South Wales, but also states on the 'Margaret's' list of children that both
parents are still alive..
Two children, a male and a female were left to fend for themselves after
Sarah's transportation. It is not known whether there were any extended
family to take care of them. It is quite likely that because of Sarah's age
at her conviction that they would have been old enough to look after
themselves.
Does anyone have any information about the above family. I would be grateful
for any information, especially on Cormick and his family.

Kerrie
