dear michael,
thanks for sharing your information with us (headstones in queens and list of
cassidys coming into NY).
i am interested in one of the listings you have for the ship records - April
3rd on the SS Anglia, there is an ann cassidy with children james, mary ann,
thomas, and alice. these could possibly be an aunt and cousins of my gg
grandfather jeremiah cassidy (b.1865, glasgow). do you have any further info
for them or were you just copying other cassidys while you searched for your
own......? isnt 1871 during the time when the NY ship records arent indexed?
it has been so long since i looked at ship records i've forgotten. it's also
been a couple years since i lived in NY.
were your cassidys frm glasgow also? if so do you know where in ireland they
were originally from? the aforementioned jeremiah left glasgow (1889) and
eventually wound up in brooklyn, not greenpoint though, so i dont really
think our cassidys are directly related, but if we are researching cassidys
in the same areas (glasgow and/or bklyn) maybe we can help each other. get
back to me with details if interested!
