The census report for 1830 in Bourbon County, Kentucky lists John C CASADY,
over 40 and under 50, with two children under 5, a boy and a girl, and a
female over 20 under 30. What happened to this John Casady? He doesn't
appear in the KY census for 1840 that I could identify. Anyone with Bourbon
County connections that might identify him and his family? He could easily
be the father of my John C CASSIDY, born possibly in KY according to census
records, but another source says Pond Creek, Greene Co., MO where he had
property by 1850.
Another John CASSADA surfaced through another source with Rebecca "Becky"
Smith, b. about 1805, possibly in Halifax Co, VA. This couple had the
following children listed with approximate birth dates.
John about 1830
Elijah about 1832
Oliver about 1834
Hezekiah about 1836
Martha about 1838
Sarah about 1840
Shadrack about 1842
Elizabeth about 1844
Rebecca about 1846
William about 1847
Thomas about 1848
I have no idea where they were living or where they were born. This family,
also, could fit with my John C Cassidy, born about 1828. Any connections
would be appreciated.
