Hello all, here are my 'difficult to track' Cassidy's.
1. Frank Cassidy m. Elizabeth McKenna, in Ireland after 1800 (County
unknown but suspected as Monaghan)
2. Daughter Ellen b. ~1846, Ireland m. Peter Conlan (b. 5/5/1848 in
Ireland - d. 3/16/1919 in Cambridge, MA, USA)
it is presently presumed that the marriage took place in
Co. Monaghan in ~1871
there are 7 children between 1872 & 1885, all in Cambridge,
MA, USA
I have info on all descendents (isn't that wishful thinking
...), myself included, from here to present
3. Daughter Mary b. ~1840's, Ireland m. Thomas Farmer b. ??,
presumably in Ireland- marriage location unknown
4. Daughter Margaret, b. ~1868, Ireland m. Peter J. Martin
b. ?? in England; m. in Cambridge, MA, 1/1895
Margaret (Farmer) Martin had 6 known children
(Thomas, Peter John, Mary, Catherine, Jane)
3. Daughter Mary b. ~1840's, Ireland m. ?? Farmer b. ??, presumably in
Ireland - marriage location unknown
This is Mary's second marriage to her husband's brother or male
cousin of the same surname
5. Daughter Catherine, b. ?? m. Bernard Mangan, b. ?? - marriage
location unknown
It is known that there are Mangan's & descendents
in the U.S before the turn of the century.
Well, that's all I know at this time. If anyone out there can relate to
these Cassidys I would love to hear from you - Also, if anyone has any
information on Martins, Farmers and/or Mangans please let me know.
I have a Mary (b 1858) and Alice Cassidy (b. 1862) daughters of Andrew
Cassidy and Alice McDonald. Both are born in Cavan. I believe these are
related to John & Catherine Cassidy and their children who arrived about
1869.
Since my McAree family has children born in Monaghan and Cavan ther might
be a relationship.
