Massillon Alexander Cassidy or M A Cassidy was born in Morristown, TN in
1854. He was one of the six children of Jeremiah Alexander and Martha Matilda
Jackson Cassidy.
Following the Civil War Massillon completed a college education, received a
Masters degree and a Law degree. He went on to Kentucky and after teaching
for a number of years became the Superintendent of Schools of Lexington. He
was responsible for legislation effecting the form of education in KY,
authored a book, short stories and newspaper articles. He passed away in the
latter 1920's in Lexington.
Massillon was my one of the brothers of my great grandfather Frank Byrdlow
Cassidy. I would love to correspond with one of his descendants. Would be
happy to share information that I have gathered on Massillon and the other
Jeremiah & Martha Cassidy lines.
