I am not very far in the search for our family roots.
My gf - Michael Joseph Cassidy b. Sept 20, 1889, came to the US in 1906 (from
Claremorris, County Mayo, Ireland) along with his brothers, Patrick and Jack
(John?) and settled in Detroit, Michigan by the 1920s. His father was Thomas
and mother -- Catherine McDonough. He had sisters who remained in Ireland.
The story was that the family felt the boys would be killed in the fighting
with the British, so were sent to America.
Any connections???
thanks, marlene

Dear Cassidy listmembers:
Our family descends from Patrick Cassidy (b. about
1859 in County Cork(??)) and his wife Catherine MARTIN
(b. ~1857 also Cork(??)). Patrick and Catherine first
appear in the US in Hartford, CT, where daughters
Alice (1882) and Susana (1885) were born. They had
moved to New York City by the time of the birth of
John Peter in June 1886; the remaining children were
born in NYC: James (1887), Anna (1888), Katherine
(1891) and Francis/Frank (1893).
Alice married Philip MILES about 1900, Susana married
John WEIGAND in 1903; Anna married Thomas FAGAN in
1908.
Any connections and/or additional information would be
warmly appreciated.

I am looking for the following CASSIDYs! John & Mary CASSIDY immigrated
to Fayette County Pennsylvania c 1871. They may have been in England
for awhile as at least two of their children, Bernard (Barney) b c 1868
and Kate b c 1870 are listed as being born in England in the census.
Mary's maiden name was DAVIS. Her parents, Abraham DAVIS & Esther
immigrated at about the same time. John's mother's name was Annie
CAVANDER.
Is there anyone out there with Pennsylvania CASSIDYs?
Thanks
Pat in California
My Daniel CASSIDY is from Waupoos Island, Prince Edward County, Ontario,
Canada. He was married to Elizabeth MCCULLOUGH. His daughter,
Catherine, married Bernard MCCAULEY in Picton, Ontario, Canada in 1849
and Daniel was listed as being from Waupoos. He may have had another
daughter, Jane CASSIDY, who was a witness at the wedding.

If any of the following sound familiar to you I'm happy to share any info I
have.
1) Jeremiah Andrew CASSIDY, unknown birth, death or location. Said to be my
ggggrandfather, to have fought in the Revolutionary War and lived to 127
years. (?)
2) Frank Birdlow "Bert" CASSIDY, b. 1862 in TN, d. ?, m. Georgia Peoples, b
?, d.?. He is seen in the 1880 census in Fannin Co, TX at the age of18. They
have two children: Eugene & Ruth shown below.
a)Eugene Herbert CASSIDY, b. 1889 in Windom, TX, d. 1968, Hanford, CA, m.
Gertrude Flowers b. 1885 Sulpher Springs TX, d. 1987, Monterey Co. CA. They
had two children: Eugene Herbert CASSIDY, Jr, & Elizabeth CASSIDY (Twins) b.
1925, Hanford, CA.
b)Ruth CASSIDY Hayes, b. ? d. 1970's in Los Angeles, CA. Believe she had one
daughter.
The 1880 Fannin Co. Census shows Frank Cassidys parents as: father b. KY,
mother b. VA. An old family story indicates Frank "Bert" Cassidy was born in
Morristown, TN. I have not found proof of this as yet.
Eugene Herbert Cassidy completed his education at the Sue Bennett Memorial
School in London, KY. Rumored to have been living with an Aunt and Uncle
there. Names unknown.
Happy to answer any questions.

Hi Cassidy researchers!
Happy New Year to all.
If you haven't posted info on your CASSIDY ancestors in a while, how about
doing it now? After all, if you keep it a secret, how can anyone ever
connect with you? We have about 150 people on this list, which is pretty
good for a surname list. So take a few minutes and POST some of your Cassidy
info that you know, and ASK about a Cassidy you'd like morei nfo on.
And if you DO connect with someone, share the good news with the rest of us.
Cheers,
Janet C-S
Hi again,
I wrote the message yesterday concerning Bernard Cassidy being named on Floyd Cook's
death certificate. The date of Floyd Cook's death was 1996,Bernard Cassidy stated that he
was the Great Nephew of Floyd Cook.
Thanks to all that responded.

I am researching my great grandfather James Buchanan Cassady who was
reportedly born July 21, 1856, in possibly Minnesota. He married Mary Emily
Randall in Ponca, Dixon County, Nebraska on July 3, 1878. He died Jan. 29,
1911, in Kansas City, Kansas. His father was a Richard Cassady, possibly
born in 1817 in Ohio or Indiana. His mother was a Mary Wood, possibly born
1820 in Ohio or ??? After my great grandmother died, James remarried once
or twice. My source of information is a genealogy prepared by my, now
deceased, father, Manley Mallett, on my mother's line. My other lines are
fairly well documented. I wonder why James, Richard and Mary were so
mysterious about where they were born in the censuses.

I heard someone was asking about the line of Cassidys I am familiar with. I
do a site for Jack Cassidy's youngest son Ryan. There is a good write up at
the Internet Movie Database (http://imdb.com) But, yes, David was Jack's
child from his first marriage and he had Shaun, Patrick and Ryan with
Shirley Jones.
