Has anyone... or is anyone planning... to set up a database on the web for the
Cassidy lines that settled in the Northern U.S. and Canada? The Cassity/Cassidy
Family Association has a limited focus... the descendants of pre-Revolutionary
immigrants to the Southern Colonies... but we are frequently asked if we could
add other Cassidy lines to our online database. I see quite a lot of posts to
this list by the descendants of Cassidys who settled in New York, Pennsylvania,
etc. and Canada and just wondered if I should be referring these people to
someone else who is managing an online Cassidy database.

This is a great idea. If anyone would like to do this, the Cassidy Clan would
be happy to offer a place for it on our web page.

I recently sent to for records of a Jesuit brother I thought might have been
an ancestor. He's not, but I'll post his info in case anyone wants to claim
him! :-)
I can't read everything since it is in Latin, but what I can figure out is
this:
Patrick Cassidy son of Henry Cassidy and Catherine Carragher or Canagher
(sp?)
born 1816, parish of Clontibret (seems to have been born on St Patrick's day?)
Siblings: Peter, James, John, Mary, Anne, Bridget, Catherine, Margaret
He entered Jesuits in 1836, at that time his parents' ages were given as 55
and 56.
If anyone thinks this Patrick belongs to them, let me know and I'll sned you
a copy of this record.
