Elizabeth is a popular name in the Cassel/Kassel family. I count 12 in my data base so
dates are important when making inquiries. Two I have are possibly the lady you are
looking for. All the Cassels seem to have come from Kreisheim. The first was Johannes ,
1639-1691 who arrived on " the Jefferies" in 1686. His third child was
Elizabeth and that is all I know of her. Another possibility is the daughter of Hupert
Cassel , 1700-1794 who arrived 1715-1720. He and brothers Johannes and Yellis ( both
arrived in 1727) were nephews of the first Johannes mentioned above and grandsons of the
Mennonite preacher, Yillis/Yellis Kassel . Hupert married a miss Sche and their second
child was Elizabeth, 10/o5/1723-?. . She married Nicholas Haldeman, Jr. and that is all
I know of her. These Cassels all came from Kreisheim to Phila./Germantown with The second
Johannes moving on to Lancaster and Hupert and Yellis moving on to Skippack or what was
then called Van Beibers Township.
