In the Registry of Deeds, Dublin, Ireland,
Vol.17 page 89, memorial no. 8251, Oct 30 1716
there was a Captain Nicholas Cassell.
Also in the deed (party 1 of lease)
was Mathew Lafitt Esq of Palmerstown, Dublin.
There was a Mr. La Fitte who married Cassell,
perhaps of the same families ?
Was Captain Nicholas Cassell the same person
mentioned in Benjamin Franklin (papers ?)
Calendar 6, 13 Sep 1731.
The Calendar 6 also mentioned a Captain whose name was unknown, perhaps he was Nicholas
Cassell ?
In the Dublin deed Mathew Lafitt may have been
selling or leasing properties including
Lissheene / Lesheen, King's County, Ireland
to Edward Weir who may have been a Government official.
Also connected to these properties was
Sir Robert Adair of Ballymena, co Antrim, Ireland,
and I have wondered if he had a son,
James Adair, born about 1709, who may have emigrated to America and wrote a book on
American Indians.
James Adair knew Benjamin Franklin.
