Hello possible cuz- I have searched everywhere for information on my
great-great-grandfather trying to expand the family history. On you site you have what is
probably my G-G-grandparents, Benjamin & Parry. The problem I face is that almost
everyone I can get information from is dead. All of my grandparents died before I was
born. The information I have to glean from is the death certificates. These certificates
are mostly hand written and relied on the "informants" knowledge and/or memory.
I have my father's fathers which list his name as Ed Tense Cassell, born Carroll
County, GA. DOB listed DK, DOD 1-9-1934. My grandmother's bible shows his name as Add
Thomas, DOB 1-13-1889, in Carrolton, Ga. However, what I have been told was that his name
was Add Thomas Cassell, Tense was a nickname. He does list his parents names as Virgil
Edwin Cassell and Josephine Lankford. I was able to get his parents death certificates
also from information on their tombstones. Virgil E Cassels, !
(note change of spelling)DOB 1-29-1856 DOD 3-19-1940, six years after his son. The
certificate list his parents as Benjamin Cassels and Parry Z Mathis, both listed as being
born in South Carolina. The name on the photo is Harriette Parezette "Parry"
Mathews. Like I said, the information they would list depended on whoever was giving it
and what they really knew. If you can help me dig any deeper I would appreciate it.
Thanks! Teri
