Mrs. J.H. Cassell Dead
Mrs. J.H. Cassell died suddenly at her home south of town, Tuesday. Mrs. Cassell had been
in ill health for about two years and her death was not wholly unexpected, as physicians
had informed the family that the end would probably come without warning. She had been
confined to her bed only at short intervals and for several days previous to her death had
been feeling better than usual.
Funeral services will be held from the home this afternoon and burial will be in the
Solomon cemetery.

Obituary --- Mrs. J. H. Cassell
Eva G. Peters was born in Andrew county, Mo., July 19, 1867. She was united in marriage
to Jas. H. Cassell, January 1, 1902, and to this union were born two children: Katie and
Valmont, both living at home.
The family has lived in Kansas since 1903 and for some time lived in the Talmage
neighborhood. A few years ago they moved to a farm a mile southwest of Manchester and it
was there that Mrs. Cassell died suddenly at noon, July 17, 1923.
Mrs. Cassell's health the past two years had not permitted her going about much,
although some of the time she was able to assist with the home duties. She had been a
faithful member of the Christian church for more than twenty years and her kind and
sympathetic nature made friends of all who knew her. This friendship was shown by a
profusion of beautiful floral pieces.
The husband and two children survive; also two step-children, Fred Cassell of Hiawatha,
Kan., and Dora Cassell, of Liberal, Kas.; three sisters, Mrs. Belle Albright, of
Roosevelt, Okla., Miss Viva Peters and Mrs. Lula Zeller, of Skidmore, Mo.; one brother,
Claude Peters, of Argonia, Kansas, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted from the home on Mrs. Cassell's fifty-sixth birthday,
July 19th, by the Rev. Geo. McKay, of Bennington. Burial was in the Solomon cemetery.

Okla; Miss Viva Peters and Mrs. Pauline Weller, Skidmore, Mo.; Claude Peters and son,
Argonia, Kas; and Miss Laura Zeller, Wichita, Kas. All have returned to their homes with
the exception of Miss Viva Peters, who will be here for a few days longer.
