Hello
I'm looking for information on my gggrandfather, John S. Cassady. He
was born in Laurel, Clermont County, OH, Feb. 17, 1853, died Oct. 30,
1938, in Brazil, Clay County, IN. His parents may have been Patric
Cassady and Martha B. Debruler. John moved to Brazil, Indiana, in
1874. He married Mary E. Senter (I believe her maiden name was
Anderson) in Brazil, IN, March 26, 1879. On the marriage certificate
his name is spelled CASSADAY. On the 1880 census of Clay County, the
spelling is CASSADY, but on the 1900 census it is either CASSIDY or
CASSIDAY (last part is unreadable). I found one of his sons, James
Quincy, (my ggrandfather) on the 1920 census, and the spelling is
CASSIDAY (the spelling my branch of the family uses now). I believe at
least one of John's sons, Oscar F., used the CASSIDY spelling. Anyone
know anything about this line?
Thanks
Pam Cassiday
