Obviously not - she was already married in 1850 when census records started listing
women.
But she is in my family's records - my grandmother was a Nelson, and family records
show her; there are 3 females living with Thomas Nelson in the 1840 census. This would be
right as Mary Robinson Nelson married Jacob Swatzell before 1840. This would leave him
with a wife and two daughters in 1840. But since they don't list names, I can't
prove them can I?
I can't find him on the 1830 census.
Maybe a more experienced Nelson researcher can answer if Sarah M D Nelson is Thomas &
Delila's child. Until evidence surfaces that she isn't his daughter; I'll
leave her on with the caveat her name derives from family history.
I'd still like to know if she died in the Civil War.
