Hi, I had posted a question back in 2000 about Hartwell Cason, and you responded. I'm
not sure if I ever saw the response or not, but I have re-read it now. Hartwell Cason
married Lucinda (or Lurinda)Marr. Based on what I have read on line records, they had
the following:
1) Martha J. Cason b. abt 1844 D. June 11, 1854 of "flux"
2) John H. Cason b. 5/15/1846 d. 9/24/1925
3) Mary R. Cason b. abt. 1849, d. ?
4) William Cason b. 10.15.1852, d. 8/12/1930 in Covington, KY.
5) Albert N. Cason (my line) b. 6/22/1857 d. 11/19/1915 in Covington, KY.
6) James H. Cason b. 6/5/1860 d. 9/28/1941
7) Benjamin F. Cason b. 3/1/1863 D. 12/21/1936
8) Francis B. (Fannie Cason Berry) b. 12/25/1865 d. 5/11/1952
I am trying to verify for DAR status for my mother. I need proof of Hartwell Cason's
birth, death, burial, etc to verify his connection to Nelson Cason. Nelson was the son of
Thomas Cason (married Nancy Day),who received a revolutionary war pension. The census
before 1850 doesn't show specific names. Do you have any information on where this
can be found. As you probably know, birth and death certificates in Kentucky weren't
available exceptfor 12 years in the 1800s. I found online where Hartwell's birth is
listed as Feb. 20, 1819,and marriage on Jan. 4, 1843, but I don't know where the birth
document is to verify. I also need birth and death documentation for Hartwell's wife,
Lur(c)inda Marr. Also, do you have any knowledge of the contents of the will of Thomas
Cason probated in Harrison Co. in 1852.
Thanks, Stephen DeWitt Atlanta, GA.
