The "Memoir...." story of Margaret Neill and her history during the
Revolutionary War----with 2 brothers who were soldiers, certainly does sound like it is
connected to the battle at Hayes Station in 1781. Those of us who are searching for the
background of Margaret Neill who was married to Thomas Cason and was the mother of 4 boys
(one of which was my gg grandfather), have never been able to learn much about her. I
have tried to make her Margaret NEEL and to link her to the Thomas Neel family. I feel
sure that there are too many similarities to the Hayes Station Massacre for there not to
be a connection. Would anyone who has a complete and detailed genealogy of the Thomas Neel
family be able to find "another" Margaret (as a middle name maybe?) who might be
the Margaret Neill Cason that so many of us would like to find to add to our records.
